NAFA 3DD Shoot

This is our very first blog entry anywhere ever! Without thinking too much about it, well here it goes…
GETTING STARTED
Very Interesting and different, that’s what this project is. We were just engaged through Jaz (D-Linz Interiors) to shoot a ‘Jewellery Fashion Show’ and edit to produce a video that can be used by the graduating students of NAFA’s 3D Design Dept as a portfolio. After meeting together with Jaz herself and Sabrina (HOD 3DD), we found out that we were set to do something really fun.
The graduation show’s opening was already over and the videography coverage as provided by another videographer was too brief. It did not showcase enough detail, the jewellery pieces were no t clear… as pointed out by Sabrina & Jaz. Though the produced video gave a broad overview of the whole event, it wasn’t sufficient a documentation for the students to use as their individual portfolios. With that, it was decided that the Jewellery Fashion Show was to be re-staged again, minus the guests. Jaz & ourselves were anticipating the fun we’ll have, given the full freedom to direct & shoot. Even though this project has objectives to be met, all of us would be extending ourselves differently, while having fun.

THE SHOOT
Was great that everyone involved was present. Our greatest challenge was shooting everything we planned while directing the models provided by Jaz, within the time we had. Based on what we planned, we were supposed to start shooting at 7pm through till about 10pm… but really, we were there at 6 to set-up and only done around 230am!
After the wait for all the models to be made up, looking their best and ready, it was Diane’s show. Diane the choreographer was trying her best to co-ordinate and direct everyone down the runway to pose, but time was against her. Everyone strutted their stuff and did their best even though they were tired (still working at the end of their day). With each stride and turn, we ouldn here the countless clicks from mobile phones & cameras about.
Just when everyone thought it was done, we took over from Diane and really pushed everyone to get the shots we needed. Even though personal schedules were compromised and honest expressions were showing, everyone still managed to put on their best smile when the moment called for it. We felt bad stretching everyone but we had to keep to the whole objective of the show. Hope everyone enjoys watching the videos! Love to hear your comments, so we can do better the next time round.
